Safety Centre
Most people you meet will be exactly who they say they are. These habits keep you in control when someone is not.
While you are chatting
- Keep the conversation in Crushly until you trust the person. You never need to share your phone number to talk
- Take your time. Someone who pushes you to move fast, to switch apps, or to meet before you are ready is showing you something
- Never send money, gift cards, bank details, one-time codes or investments to someone you met online — whatever the story
- Be careful with photos you would not want shared
- A verified badge means our team compared a selfie with the profile photos. It is not a background check
Before you meet
- Meet in a public place, and stay there
- Arrange your own way there and back
- Tell someone you trust where you are going. In Crushly you can add a trusted contact and share a confirmed date plan with them: they receive a text with your first name, the time and the venue
- Keep your phone charged, and keep your drink with you
Check-ins
After a confirmed date, Crushly asks how it went. You can answer that you are safe, ask for more time, or say you need help.
Check-ins are reminders for you. They are not monitored in real time and they do not send anyone to you. Choosing "I need help" opens a priority request with our team, who reply in the app when they are available. If you are in danger, call 112.
Report and block
- Block ends the match at once. Neither of you can find or contact the other, and the other person is not told
- Report is on every profile, photo, message and conversation, and still works after you unmatch or block. A person on our team reviews each report
Report anyone who asks for money, threatens you, will not take no for an answer, seems to be under 18, or is not who they claimed to be.
If something went wrong
- In an emergency, call 112
- Women's helpline (India): 181
- Report online fraud or cyber crime: cybercrime.gov.in, or call 1930 for financial fraud
- Then tell us — in the app under Help & support, or at hello@crushly.in — so we can act on the account
What happened is not your fault, and reporting it helps protect the next person.
