Request deletion

We confirm it is you with a one-time code sent by SMS to the phone number registered on your account. Nothing is deleted until the number is verified.

What happens, and when

Straight away Your profile is hidden from other members, and you can no longer like or message anyone.
For 14 days Nothing is deleted yet. If you change your mind, sign in to the app and cancel the request. Our staff cannot cancel, reject or delay it.
After 14 days Your account and data are permanently deleted. This cannot be undone.
Within 30 days after that Routine backups that still contain your data expire.

What is deleted

Your phone number, email address and date of birth
Your profile, photos, prompts, interests and discovery preferences
Your verification selfie and verification history
Your likes and passes, the blocks you made, and the messages you sent
Your trusted contacts, date-plan shares, check-ins, private date feedback, and the address and venue details of your date plans
Your support requests and appeals
Your notifications and notification settings, devices, sign-in sessions and push tokens
The record of the policies you accepted

What is kept, and for how long

A small amount is kept so that deleting an account cannot be used to erase evidence of harm to someone else or to escape a ban.

What	Why, and until when
Messages and photos that are evidence in a safety report	Kept until the case is closed and 180 days have passed, then deleted.
Moderation decisions, reports and cases about the account	Kept as a safety record, to handle appeals, repeat abuse and lawful requests. Reports you filed stay with their case, without your identity attached.
A one-way keyed hash of the phone number and email	Only for accounts that were banned, or suspended when they were deleted, so the same person cannot re-register. The number itself is not kept. Held until staff lift the block.
The deletion record	A reference, the dates and a count of what was removed, as proof the deletion was carried out. Any reason you gave is erased when deletion completes.
An empty account placeholder	An internal id with the status "deleted" and dates, so that other members' reports and match history stay consistent. It holds no phone number, email, date of birth or profile.
Staff audit log entries	730 days. Contact details and message content are stripped before an entry is written.

The messages you sent are deleted for the people you talked to as well. More detail is in the Privacy Policy.

In the app: Profile → Settings → Pause or delete account.
If you can no longer receive SMS on your number: write to hello@crushly.in.
